Delete Your Account and Data
Last updated: August 31, 2026
This page explains how to request deletion of your account and all associated data for DevStash, the bookmark manager app for developers, published by Tekknative. DevStash is available as a web app, a browser extension, and a mobile app, and all of them share one account.
You can delete your account yourself at any time. Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no waiting period, no recovery window, and no way for us to restore an account once it has been deleted.
1. How to Request Account Deletion
Use any one of the three options below. All of them permanently delete the same account and the same data.
Option A: Delete from the web app (fastest)
- Sign in at app.devstash.app.
- Open Settings from the avatar menu in the sidebar, or go directly to app.devstash.app/settings.
- Scroll down to the Danger Zone section.
- Click Delete account.
- Confirm by clicking Delete account in the dialog that appears.
- Your account and data are deleted immediately and you are signed out.
Option B: Delete from the mobile app
- Open the DevStash app on your phone and make sure you are signed in.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
- Your account and data are deleted immediately and you are signed out. Deleting from the app deletes the same account as the web, so there is nothing left to do on the website afterwards.
Option C: Ask us to delete it for you
If you have uninstalled the app or can no longer sign in, email support@devstash.app with the subject line Account deletion request. Send it from the email address linked to your account, or include your GitHub username, so we can identify the account. We verify ownership before deleting anything and complete verified requests within 30 days.
2. Data That Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following is erased from our systems immediately and permanently:
- Your account and authentication record, including the link to your GitHub sign-in
- All bookmarks, including titles, URLs, notes, descriptions, and metadata
- Saved article text, video transcripts, and generated reader content
- All collections and folders, including any collection you had shared publicly
- All tags
- Search embeddings generated from your content for AI-assisted search
- Connected integrations and the encrypted access tokens stored for them
- Your credit balance, including any unused credits, and your credit transaction history
- Records of in-app purchases made through the App Store or Google Play
Unused credits are forfeited on deletion and are not refunded. Publicly shared collection links stop working as soon as the account is deleted.
3. Data That Is Kept, and for How Long
A small amount of data is retained after deletion, either because the law requires it or because it can no longer be connected to you. None of it can be used to restore your account or your content.
- Payment and invoice records. If you bought credit packs, our payment processor Stripe keeps the transaction and invoice records associated with the purchase for up to 7 years, so that we can meet tax and accounting obligations. We do not store full card numbers at any point.
- Support and feedback messages. Emails or feedback you sent us remain in our support inbox unless you ask us to remove them. Include that request in your deletion email and we will delete them too.
- Anonymous analytics. Aggregated usage statistics that contain no identifiers and cannot be linked back to you or your account.
- Server logs. Routine technical logs, which may briefly contain an identifier from before the deletion, are kept for a short operational period of up to 30 days and then rotate out automatically.
4. Questions
For anything about deletion, data access, or corrections, email support@devstash.app . Our Privacy Policy describes in full what we collect and how we handle it.
